Lisa McKean, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner
Lisa McKean, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the George Washington University. She worked at Virginia Hospital Center as a clinical staff nurse for five years before transitioning to an advanced provider role. She is an honoree for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses and received the VHC Rising Star award for nurse advocacy. She served on several nursing committees including the magnet council for professional development as co-chair and the VNRP advisory board.
Lisa is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, which allows her to provide preventative and diagnostic care to all ages across the lifespan. Inflammatory disease and arthritis affects the whole body and she believes shared-decision making is essential to achieving optimum healthcare objectives. She supports holistic care, nutrition, and physical fitness as part of any treatment plan, and is excited to work with you to achieve your health goals.
Lisa also works as an adjunct nursing clinical instructor for Northern Virginia Community College and is still active in emergency/trauma nursing.
